Life has been hectic the last few weeks.
. . .
A few thoughts:
I am officially graduated, and it feels great.
It’s been raining for days, but I love it still.
. . .
There’s nothing better than a newly painted room and fresh flowers.
Making new friends and experiencing old places like new.
. . .
. . . . .
. . .
I hope you’re having a good day too.
. . . . .
Be prepared for more things to come.

Sorry for the lack of posts. I’ve bee very busy with my thesis work, and it’s finally finished! I’ve been working on a project called one thousand books. I made a thousand handmade books with photographs of the proceess to accompany them. Part of the process involves the viewer taking the book, so hopefully by the end of the show, it will no longer exist! They’ll be installed next week for my commencement show, and I’m very excited!
Here are some installation views from my final critique.

More updates once the show is installed!

So, since I will be leaving Baltimore in a couple months, I have been trying to do things that I wouldn’t get a chance to do otherwise becasue of distance or otherwise. The first week of April marks the annual National Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington, D.C. I’ve been meaning to go every year, but just never get around to it. This year, I AM GOING. I am making it happen. There is apparently a parade and other such events, but we shall see what happens. I’ll post images after I go!

Also, on the same note as World Wide Fred, Bambu is a great company that makes bamboo kitchen utensils and bowls. They are wonderfully simple, but beautiful at the same time. I can’t wait to move to my new home and fill my kitchen with them!
Great curvy salad servers.
Low bamboo bowls great for daily use.
A three part tray perfect for appetizers!
Bambu can also be found at many local stores. Yay for beautiful things!

World Wide Fred has to be one of my favorite companies. Not only are their products useful, but they are hilarious.
Here are just a few of their amazing products.

Sewer cap doormats that look exactly like the ones in these cities!

They make some fantastic ice cube trays. This is one of my favorites.

Guitar shaped ice cubes! I recently sent these to my best friend, an avid guitarist.
Best of all, many of their products can be found in many local stores. No waiting for them to ship!

After a week and a half of apartment hunting and other such adventures, my last spring break has officially ended. I saw 17 apartments in Boston, and ate tons of good stuff, but now it is time to focus on finishing my thesis and finishing up school. Four years in Baltimore has brought its ups and down, and I am definitely ready to move up and out in May. Mark and I have found a great little house in MA, and I am super excited to be moving!
Here are a few snippets from my trip.

Trees enveloped in fog on the ride up.

Looking out over the North Bridge in Concord, MA.

Crazy stairs at the new three floor Apple Store in Boston, MA.

Looking out into Boston Harbor from inside the Institute of Contemporary Art.
Happy Spring!

Shinzi Katoh is a Japanese zakka designer that creates the most adorable, yet interesting housewares and totes. Many stores in the U.S. carry Katoh’s designs, but most exciting is that there is finally an english version of the website! Yay!
Cool things include:
Mugs with little dishes that sit on top to keep your drink warm and hold a snack!

Great canvas tote bags with a zipper pocket outside and two pockets inside.
